Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI)

View of 线上买球平台 looking east

线上买球平台 Montessori is founded on the ideals of peace education. We believe that our school’s most consequential impact is not limited to academic education, but extends to effecting change for a more peaceful world. We embrace our Montessori ideals of being part of the interconnected human family and conscientious, ethical citizens of the world who are caretakers of our planet.

线上买球平台 welcomes students, families, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. We recognize, respect, and honor the diversity in our community due to an individual’s age, national origin, immigration status, ethnicity, race, physical ability, family structure, gender and gender identity, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic background. We believe our differences strengthen our community of learners and must be inclusive of different perspectives and experiences. 线上买球平台 is committed to creating a community that is inclusive and welcoming.

At 线上买球平台, bigotry, prejudice, bias, or discrimination toward the above identities are not tolerated. We believe it is our responsibility to stand together and confront tyranny, fear, and intolerance. We uphold social justice values and commit to continuing to grow our anti-racist work and teaching.

As a school community, we strive to nurture and develop diversity, equity, and inclusion by creating a learning environment that includes and values differing perspectives. We undergo this vital task in a variety of ways.

  • Leadership from the Board of Trustees to examine our school's history and operations in order to create greater equity for students.
  • Teachers implement the anti-bias curriculum in an age-appropriate manner alongside culturally responsive teaching methods are already embedded in the Montessori pedagogy.
  • Students, families, and staff have access to affinity groups and expanded DEI parent education as we continue to build to normalcy after the pandemic.
  • Tools and resources are required to strengthen our equity journey. Faculty and staff have access to equity professional development training. At the end of the 2022-23 school year, 87% of faculty and staff have completed 30 hours of training through the SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) training by the SEED National project.

线上买球平台 uses SEED (Seeking Educational Equity and Diversity) as the foundation for our DEI training, education, and programming for employees, Board members, and parents. This training is a peer-led professional development program that creates conversational communities to drive personal, organizational, and societal change toward greater equity and diversity.

Planting SEEDs at 线上买球平台

In 2022-23, 线上买球平台 launched its inaugural SEED program for parents and caregivers: Planting SEEDs. The program allows participants to deepen their knowledge about oppressive systems and the effect on our social world as parents and caregivers via structured, small-group conversations and dialogue.

An education capable of saving humanity is no small undertaking; it involves the spiritual development of humans, the enhancement of their value as an individual, and the preparation of young people to understand the times in which they live.”
